ISO gen fail - run out of space?

Worked fine a couple of times, but subsequent compilations continually
fail with 'error in creating ISO' error suggesting I'm out of space
(not - have new 1Tb drive!).
Altering /tmp/ location is not trivial as each restart of DeVeDe
returns the value of "temp folder" in /home/me/.devede back to /var/
tmp/
gconf-editor doesn't help either (esp as I use a KDE desktop env)
What gives?

Devede worked fine for a while, successfully creating about 50 DVDs'.
Now almost every time it stops at 2% to 5% when creating the iso image
and locks up the system.
This is on an IBM T-42, running Mint 7, fully up to date.
I've reinstalled Devede - same results.
I reinstalled Mint7 with out updates and then with full updates.
Nothing makes any difference, same problem.
Problem in Devede or Jaunty?
Anybody have any ideas ?

$ dvd-author -x [xml with a valid dvd structure]

Dvdauthor causes a segmentation fail when proces the .mpg file
movie_menu_2_0.mpg. This file is used to generate the dvd access menu.
This file looks like invalid trying to open whit totem, vlc,
mplayer...
I have devede 6.13
Any idea?

Seems like it was a mencoder bug. When I installed mplayer/mencoder form sid repository (debian) things went back to normal.
