Hi all,

I am trying to convert an avi file to an ISO movive image with DeVeDe.
The file size is 703.1 MiB, it also has subtitles with it in an srt
format. When I have converted a AVI file this size before with
subtitles, DeVeDe normally takes about 1hr 45 mins to convert. However
today, DeVede has been running for over three hours and still only at
10% The subtitles work with the AVI file but DeVeDe has not progressed
at all, so I am unsure of what to do, DeVeDe worked fine yesterday
when converting a file with subtitles. I am running Ubuntu 11.10 as my
only OS.

Cheers

I know a temporary fix to this problem. You will have to open a
terminal where the video is stored. After that run ffmpeg -i input.avi
-acodec copy -vcodec copy -sn output.avi

That will strip the subtitles and perhaps pick up on corruptions in
the file. Keep in mind that could max out the I/O to your hard drive
cause your system to freeze for minute or two.

The maintainer is writing his thesis for his a doctorate so he is a
little tied up. I have been trying to get him to add a queue feature
for saved .devede files, because I don't know python and what I do
know is too time consuming to get it done right.

A good solution would be to add an option in the interface asking if
you want to use the subtitles in the video, the default being yes.
