devedeDG stalls

Hello group-

I've been using DeVeDe for a a long time and it's been reliable until now.  On a Manjaro (Arch) platform I'm running DeVeDe version 4.17. As usual, I add an m4v file, select the two-pass option and start the create process. It runs for 20 minutes (about) and just stops.  No errors or message, and the  "create" window stays open. I exit the program after 90 minutes.

I don't know how to kick off the program from the command line, so I can't see any messages that might appear there.

How should I trouble-shoot this?

Hi, I've had a similar problem on Ubuntu 24.04.  Interestingly enough it works fine in 22.04, but not in 24.04.  For a while I was running an old laptop with 22.04 just for Devede.  Eventually I uninstalled Devede and reinstalled the latest version by downloading the deb file from the website (package for Noble - 4.21.0)  This appears to have solved the problem for me.

To load DeVeDe from a terminal I use

'devede_ng.py'

on open openSUSE

or

'devede'

on Ubuntu 24.x

I run Linux Mint and the DeVeDe version installed is 4.16.0-1.

I see that the current version is 4.21 but that version is not in the Package manager for Mint.

Thoughts?
