Devede won't create 4,7 dvd

i have a file that is 2.1 Go but when devede finish to convert ...even i select 4,7 dvd and ajust disk image for it , it create a double layer dvd format resulting that im not able to burn on a 4,7 go dvd.

Any idea what to do to resolv this ?

BTW: did you clicked the "Adjust disk usage" button after choosing the desired disk size?

Also, I tested Devede 4.7 with Debian SID. It is probable that Jessie packages are too old.

problem solved ... i had an error about bit_rate ...after looking carefuly it was du to bit rate in the menu ...when i selected AC3 it's was ok !

problem not solved !!!! even with the ng version it's still creating a 7.5 GB iso after selected 4.7 GB and ajusted it .... any idea ????

Can you check if the file length (time) is detected correctly? Maybe there is a problem, and miscalculates the bitrate.

ok problen solved and not ... i burned it on a dual layer dvd ... it's probably the lenght of   over 3 hours of video that can't be shrink to 4.7 Go.

To check the length, just select one of the files in Devede, and click "properties".

I just tried to put a 1.3 Go video on a 4.7 DVD and AGAIN damn it it created me a 7 Go iso image!

I did exactly the same procedure then before ( and before it WAS OK !!! ) and still it's not doing what it's supose to do ! So dont tell me have you do this or this ... the problem is the software not my pc or me the user !

Ok. First: I do this software in my spare time. Sorry if this bothers you, but I must use my time firstly with the job-that-pays-the-bills. That's my priority. You aren't paying for this, so start by being a little more supportive and educated!

Ok, now do this: create again the DVD, but after devede ended doing it, and shows the window indicating that it ended, and asking if you want to burn it, expand the part that says "debug information", click the "copy" button, and paste that here, to try to debug the problem.

BTW: remember that you must click the "Adjust disk usage" button every time you change something in the project, just before clicking the "Create" button. This is: if you add five files and click "Adjust disk usage", if you add more files, or remove some, you must click again the button to instruct Devede to calculate again the optimal bitrate. The same if you change the disk size.

The rule of thumb is to click the "Adjust disk usage" button just before clicking the "Create" button.

Also, keep in mind that you can't put everything you want in a DVD, because there is a minimum bitrate of 300kbps in the DVD standard Add to this that, by default, the audio uses 224kbps, and that gives us a minimum of 524kbps. That means that, if you add movies which are too long (in time), Devede won't be able to squeeze them into a DVD. The maximum size for a 4,7GB dvd with this bitrate would be about 2,4 hours. Of course, you can reduce the audio bitrate manually in the properties.

I presume that you are putting the video bitrate in "automatic". If you set a value manually, the " adjust disc..." button will honour it, instead of setting the best one.

ok ... i got a 7.2 go dvd again ... but i try again with a lower bitrate in the video and i can see that it will be ok ... the % was lower ...so i brb with the latest result after this attemp !

well ... bad news !!!

I puted a lower bitrate for the video AND for the audio the create the dvd ... the return ...again 7.2 iso file !!!

here a picture of what i did ... it was even saying 86 % of the 4.7 go dvd are gone a be use but ... nop it's a 7.2 go dvd needed !

You didn't put the output of DevedeNG after creating the disc. Could you please create it again, and when it shows the window saying it is done, expand the "Debugging data", click the "Copy" button to copy all the text to the clipboard, and paste it here, to allow me to check the commands sent.

BTW: how did you install Devede? From a package (deb, rpm...), or from the GIT repository? Also... did you mix both methods? I ask this because if you installed both a version using packages, and also another one from the repo, they can conflict.
