As mentioned previously in a status update message, there are some changes going to take place over the next 6 months to a year concerning the DeveloperCompanion extension and other tooling.
While great progress has been made to get a new tool on an updated stack completed, things are not quite ready yet. This is unfortunate as I now need to announce that the DeveloperCompanion extension will be discontinued for Firefox 25+.
This is not an easy decision, but based on too many incompatibilities with Firefox 25. Looking at the changes that have happened in the add-on SDK over the last couple of years and the fact that it is now available in Firefox native and all the progress that I have made towards new tooling on all the latest SDKs it makes no sense trying to patch DeveloperCompanion to keep it alive to bridge the gap for the next little while.
If you want to continue using DeveloperCompanion, please stay on Firefox 24 with Firebug 1.11 using a separate profile for development.
As mentioned, anyone who has a DeveloperCompanion license will be upgraded to the new Ginseng tool when it becomes available.
Thanks for your continued support and understanding,
Christoph
