1. Inform other user groups in chennai and ask them to join in wiki
and google group
I was a part of chennai LUG, so I sent a mailer there,
there are potentially other communities in chennai like python, java,
ruby, .Net (why not!), etc. - if you guys are part of any such
communities or know any friends who are part of the community then
give a shout to them and let this be known to all of the chennai
developer community.

2. Find potential speakers. They are the ones who are going to make
this a success. If you know a person who are really smart (be it a co-
worker or your lecturer/professor) or if YOU are really smart - get
ready, get prepared for a talk.

3. To have a nice logo for chennai devcamp that brings out the flavour
of chennai. What the website has now is a 'default logo', we could
customize it to suit the "spirit of chennai"

For e.g. check this logo for 'Ignite chennai' that happened
in thoughtworks a few weeks back - http://ignite.oreilly.com/2009/07/14/ignite-chennai-trans-logo.jpg
- it has chennai egmore at the background.
These are a bunch of logos for 'BarCamp'
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3344/3623061487_3e0ea88610.jpg (DevCamp
is a specialized BarCamp)

4. Sponsor for T-Shirts. So, the logo that we design gets printed on
these T-shirts and if we get a sponsor for t-shirts, that'd be great!

5. Twitter account. we just created a twitter account - @devcamp-
chennai, but we need to post and publicize. Whoever wants to manage
this account, send in a mail, I'll share the password with you. Ask
your friends and friends' friends to follow this. The twitter hashtag
will be #DCC1 (stands for DevCamp Chennai 1)

6. IRC channel for regular meetings.

Remember - THIS-IS-IT, we have the power to make this a huge success
and I'm more concerned about the quality of sessions and speakers. Let
the whole developer community in India and around the world know that
there are some really great developers/programmers/consultants/hackers
in chennai and Tamil Nadu.

If you guys have more ideas to promote this event, chip in.

7. Apart from twitter "Facebook Like Page" Can also be created as most
of the students, it professionals and software developers are active
on facebook. This will create a google online presence of this
conference. Link to the like page can added on the DCC1 official
website and similarly all the links like twitter profile, DCC1
official website can be posted on the Like Page.

Hey Shiv, the twitter handle is devcamp_chennai.

By all means, if you can create and maintain the Facebook Like Page,
do it and publish it to the community here.

Thanks,
Balaji
