All,

The DevCamp, Chennai home page has been revamped. A lot more
information has been added to the page with pictures of previous
devcamps and a note on DevCamp philosophy.

Please visit the page when you get time.

Dear Bala,
Are there plans to map the page to a domain like chennai.devcamp.in also the 'ThoughtWorks' in the domain name and the wikipage is not adding substantial value to ThoughtWorks brand at the same time making it less enticing for other corporate community participants/sponsors.

Agree with Balaji.

Also, I'd move the registration and presentation links to the top of
the page. Spent a bit of time searching for these links. Even better
if they can be added to the left sidebar.

Valid point. Agreed.

devcamp.in is maintained by Siddhu Ponnappa - an ex-ThoughtWorker. We
thought at first to host it in some wiki farm and then use a custom
domain mapping for chennai.devcamp.in. But most of the wiki farms
requires us to purchase a premium version of the wiki to have custom
domain support. In the meantime, ThoughtWorks already had a public
wiki setup that was used for announcing events that happen out of
ThoughtWorks offices. So, it was practical for us to use it. But if it
helps in getting more like minded active participants/speakers for the
event who would otherwise won't, then I'm all for it.

There is this website that holds information of all barcamps and
barcamp-style events that happen around the world --> http://barcamp.org
I hope that, this site will be best suited for our needs. The website
already has a lot of information about BarCamps and its philosophy -
so it'll be self-explanatory for those who are new to barcamp style
events - which is an added bonus.

And either ways, we need to have an entry in that website to mark our
event w.r.t other similar events around the world.

Comments and Suggestions are appreciated.

If its going to help reach out other corporate community participants, +1 to host it under http://barcamp.org . Adding to what Balaji (openbala) said, even if we get a premium account and host it under devcamp.in, thats going to expire after some time and we'll end up losing all the wiki content we create for DCC1
