Hello all, we are currently working on a series of
hackathons for the purpose of creating usable resources for the XPRIZE competition. Carrying on the Radically Open mantel of our team, any work produced here will immediately be published under the Apache licence and/or CC licence and made available to all. The XPRIZE are really keen on this Idea and are backing us in this work. We are also in talks with Google, Mozilla and others as potential sponsors.
Overview:
The idea being that we will create a series of Hackathons of differing types,
- Technical hacks that will focus on core technology that will be needed, and can be used by any XPRIZE team or anyone that want to use it. I.E voice technologies, Player technologies, story engines...
- Content hacks (As recommended by Patrick) that will focus on creating content. Similar to Book Sprints
- Design hacks oriented on UI/UX concepts and methods
In all of these the goal is not only to produce valuable resources for this important project, but also to inspire more folks to take part and contribute. This initiative works perfectly with our mission and vision and our radically open approach. Hopefully we can entice more XPRIZE teams to join us through this approach and more quickly create a solution for these children.
We need help:
We have taken part in hackathons before but this will be our first time hosting them, and we need help from those that have experience in such things. If you or anyone you know can help please let us know.
