Özet:
A toric variety is an algebraic variety which is compatible with the torus action. There are several ways to construct a toric variety, but in this talk we only give the combinatorial approach. This means that we consider the toric varieties as a geometric object defined by combinatorial information. For this reason, we will define some tools of combinatorial convexity, which are known as cones- and collection of cones- fans. We will describe affine toric varieties in terms of cones and their duals, then by glueing together we will get an abstract toric variety. The basic idea is that the combinatorial data of the fan tells us how to glue together the affine toric varietis coming from the cones of the fans. Finally, we will deal with some geometric and topological properties of toric varieties.
