Unfortunately, the new scanning program interface that you sent does not allow you to work with the HP LaserJet Pro M1536 dnf. The program that you sent to my knowledge only works successfully on HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521dn models.

Before letting MS update my Laptop I removed the Printer from Windows 7. The PC updated to Windows 10 and then I reinstalled the Prnter Software. I did this because I previously had an issue on another PC that I updated to Windows 10 did not get the printer working right.

When I install the Full Featured Printer software downloaded from the HP website, the Printer works, but the SCan Feature does not work - when I click on the Icon for the scan and I get a message that says "HP JL M1530 MFP Series Scan was not found"

When I first installed the HP software on the Laptop it asks how you have the printer connected (1) USB (2) Network (3) Wireless. Because I had a Laptop with a Wireless connection, I selected the wireless option.

However, that was not the setup I have for this HP Printer. I have this HP Printer connected to my Wireless Router using an Ethernet Cable. So even though the Laptop was wireless, the HP Printer is actually a Network connected device.

So, I unnstalled the HP software and re-installed it and then selected option 2 - the Network connected HP printer and the software installed and the Printer and Scanner now work perfectly on the Laptop.

The only thing I did differently on this last PC that I upgraded was that before I upgraded to Windows 10 I when ahead and deleted the Printer in Windows7 first. My plan was to let the PC upgrade to Windows 10 and then I would re-install the HP Printer software in Windows 10 thinking this would eliminate any issues with the Printer Drivers. We'll, everything worked except the scanner.. it just does not launch at all. The printer works perfectly though.

I have deleted and reinstalled the printer software in Windows 10 several times. That didn't help. I have downloaded the most recent HP Full Package from the HP website. It installs without a problem... when I click on the Scanner Icon, it just doesn't launch.

I tried disabling the Window Firewall and the AV protection during the installation - still can't get the scanner to launch. I tried running the scanner as an Administrator (the account on the PC is an administrator anyway). That didn't work.

So, it's a mystery why this install doesn't work and my other PC's work fine. The only difference between the PC's that have the scanner softare working is that I just let the Windows 10 upgrade without trying to remove the printer in Windows 7. I guess I should have not tried to "outsmart" the Windows 10 update!

I used a Printer Cable and connected it to a USB Port on my Laptop and to the HP Printer. Then when I clicked on the HP Scanner it worked fine. So I do have a work-around if I even need to scan something. Not the solution I was looking for, but it makes the scanner work.

I actually have this Printer connected via an Ethernet Cable to my wireless Router. My Laptop connects via the network. So I'm beginning to wonder if there is a port being blocked by my Wireless router.

For me it's not working. I have the exact same setup. It worked before, but after changing ISP, meaning changing modem/router, it doesn't work anymore. Printing works. I can also access the printers admin-pages from my laptop. Just not scan. Neither does the Win built-in scanning app work. It says the printer is ofline.

I have an hp laserjet m1536dnf connected to a wired network of 8 computers. The printer has been able to print and scan as a network standalone and out of blue the scanner was no longer available. I uninstalled the software and when I try to re-install the printer is no longer available as the hp software cannot detect it when you search automatically, through ip address or through hardware address. When I run the ping command the printer is detected. Currently I have the printer shared through one of the computers connected by usb and computers can print but scanner is not available. All the computers are running Windows 7 home premium

Hi Mogotsi,
You should clean and reinstall printer.
Clean mean even from registers in each pc.
Since you have win 7 home edition problems with networking will always happens due to the fact of the OS you poses is not designed properly for networking
You should install driver in each PC. Since your communication is OK with PING you will solve problem with HP printer itself.
First step you should reset default values of the printer itself and than.

You can avoid this problem, as well as some security issues with
printers, by putting all printers in a dedicated VLAN/subnet. You
then apply a firewall or access control list to that interface that
allows printing ports (TCP 8100) in from the clients and print servers
and telnet or ssh in from specified hosts for configuration.

The windows software and windows live photo gallery do not detect the scanner on the printer. I only shared the printer through usb as a temporary solution to get users to have some printing sevice available as the printer is not detected through the network

If you're using Windows and you've installed a HP driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.

Using Adobe Acrobat XI with Windows 10 and HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP scanner, I cannot change output page size from 8 1/2 by 14, and custom scan or configure presets only allows automatic papersize. Is there another adjustment to make somewhere?

The control panel at the front includes a two-line, monochrome LCD display along with a host of dedicated controls for scanning and copying, as well as a numerical keypad for entering fax numbers. There are also quick dial buttons on the far left of the panel that allow you to instantly recall commonly used fax numbers. Despite the limited amount of information that can be shown on the screen at any one time, the printer's menus are smartly laid out and as a result are easy to navigate around using the directional pad.

Sitting on top of the scanner there's a automatic document feeder that can accept up to 35 sheets of paper. This allows you to automatically copy or fax multi-page documents without having to manually feed in sheets to the scanner one at a time. It can be a great time saver when used in busy home offices.

Setting up the printer isn't quite as easy as it should be, as the instruction manual is pretty obtuse and likely to be baffling if you've never used a laser printer before. The instructions for preparing and installing the toner cartridge are particularly poor, especially as it awkwardly needs to be placed deep in the belly of the machine. The printer doesn't have Wi-Fi built in, but it does have an Ethernet port alongside the standard USB port, so it is easy to share it with multiple computers across your home network. Setting up the network connection is also very straightforward.

The M1536's scanner has an optical resolution of 1,200 dpi and unlike many multifunction models, the scanner lid is double hinged so it can rise up to accommodate thicker books, which is handy. It's extremely quick to copy as well, taking just ten seconds to photocopy our test page. However, the copy results weren't as good as we would have liked. It dropped a lot of the fine graduation in grey fills, for example, and text looked a lot rougher than on the original document.

Paper is fed into the printer from a fold out tray at the bottom, which can hold a maximum of 250 sheets. There's also a ten-sheet multipurpose feeder on top that's useful for printing cards or envelopes.

Once up and running, the printer is a fairly pacey performer. It took 35 seconds to print our ten-page black and white text document, while printing our ten-page business presentation was quick too, at a mere 43 seconds. Our black and white graphics test document was similarly fast taking 32 seconds. These results compare pretty favourably with other multifunction laser printers on the market at the moment.

We've got no complaints about the print quality of text either, as it produces pages with clean but dark looking black text that's sharp and defined. Graphic results aren't quite as pristine as there was some speckling visible on the bands of grey in our test page.

Apart from paper, there's only one consumable to worry about with the M1536: the toner cartridge. This model uses a CE278A toner cartridge, which is rated at 2100 pages and costs around 60 online. That works out at a running cost of 3.55p per page, including 0.7p for paper costs. That's neither widely expensive for a laser model, nor particularly cheap, so it slots in somewhere towards the middle in terms of cost of ownership.
