FYI Detroit Parks Conservancy.  This is not one of our big parks but just thought you might be interested.

There is a hearing tonight 6-9pm at the Georgia St Collective, 8902 Vinton, regarding Lodge Playfield, a 12 acre city park and it being declared surplus so that industry can purchase it for their needs. In the sales agreement there is no guarantee for jobs or for any replacement value. The park is more than just grass. There is plenty of surplus land @ the land bank that can be used in addition to empty commercial lots that are not in use. But this seems to be the cheapest option. Also are they putting land up for the highest bid or is this a deal for a single developer?

Once they take these smaller parks, they’ll carve up the big ones.
