Tigers outscored Orioles on Saturday

The Tigers took nearly a week to get their first win of the pre-season.  The next day, they got their second win.

On Saturday, the Tigers went to Charlotte County, where they played the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Tigers won the game, 12-3.

In the top of the first, Kevin McGonigle tripled, and score don a single by Matt Vierling.

In the top of the second, Corey Julks singled, Max Anderson doubled to driv ein Mr. Julkes, and Jace Jung singled to drive in Mr. Anderson.  The Tigers had a 3-0 lead.

Taylor Walls homered for the Rays in the bottom of the fourth.

In the top of the fifth, Kevin McGonigle walked, Matt Vierling singled, and Colt Keith singled to drive in Mr. McGonigle.

In the top of the sixth, Jace Jung doubled, went to third base on a fly outt, and scored on a single by Thayron Liranzo.  Then, Josue Briceno was safe on a fielding error by Raynel Delgado, Ben Malgeri was safe on a fielding error by Raynel Delagado to load the bases, Peyton Graham was safe on a fielder's choice as Mr. Lirianzo scored, and Corey Julks homered to drive in Mr. Briceno, Mr. Malgeri, and Mr. Graham.  Yes, that was a grand-slam home run.  After Mr. Julks hit the grand slam, John Peck made it back-to-back home runs.

In the bottom of the ninth, Cooper Kinney walked, Raynel Delgado was safe on a force out of Mr. Kinney, Brayden Taylor doubled, and Blake Sabol singled to drive in Mr. Delgado and Mr. Taylor.

31-year-old Drew Anderson pitched the first three innings.  He gave up four hits and a walk, but he allowed no runs.  He struck out three.

Konnor Pilkington, a lefty, gave up one run on one hit, a home run by Taylor Wells in the fourth.  He struck out one.

Tyler Holton gave up one hit in a scorless inning of work in the fifth.  He struck out one.

Burch Smith pitched a perfect inning in the sixth.  He struck out two.

Tanner Rainey pitched a perfect inning in the seventh.  He struck out one.

Jack Little gave up one hit in the secorelss eighth.  He struck out three.

Garrett Burhenn gave up two runs on three hits and a walk in the ninth.
