I noticed Jace Jung has been playing some first base this spring.   Jung has quietly had a decent spring (.375/.423/.500).   I hope he can salvage his career although I don't see a lot of room for him on the Tigers.

At ages 22-24,  Jung hit well in the minors three years in a row .  That's usually a good sign.  He'll have a major league career, it's just a matter of whether the Tigers use him or can get something for him in trade.

I fear it'll be another Candelario, Castro, Malloy situation where they just cut him and get nothing.

Jung is kind of stuck behind Keith at 3B and Tork at 1B, and he doesn't play 2B much anymore, if at all.

To beat a dead horse into the ground, Avila should have drafted Zach Neto instead of Jung.  Oh well.

Jung seems like a good trade candidate but the Tigers actually have questionable hitting so it’s not trading from an area of strength.  And of course they’re unlikely to get much for him just because he has a good spring.

Feels like the only suspense with the roster is whether McGonigle makes the team at the expense of Meadows.  I’m assuming Parker would be the cut given he’s having a terrible spring and Baez can play CF, opening up SS for McGonigle.

I guess another roster battle is between Jones and Perez?

Dingler & Rogers
Tork
Torres
Baez
Keith
Greene
Carpenter
Vierling
McKinstry

That’s 10 so I guess Jones and Perez could both make it… But not both McGonigle and Meadows.
