This afternoon's lineup vs. righty Hunter Brown (1.40 ERA in 4 starts).  Brown recently came back from a long stint on the IL but he seems to have picked up where he left off.
He's one of the best righties in baseball.

  1. Kevin McGonigle (L) 3B
  2. Colt Keith (L) 1B
  3. Riley Greene (L) LF
  4. Dillon Dingler (R) C
  5. Kerry Carpenter (L) DH
  6. Zach McKinstry (L) SS
  7. Hao-Yu Lee (R) 2B
  8. James Outman (L) CF
  9. Matt Vierling (R) RF

Jack Flaherty (5.35 ERA in 15 starts) returns to the mound for the Tigers.  No word yet on who is getting sent down to make room for Flaherty.

Tork not starting against the tough righty Brown.  Hinch has mercy on Tork and saves him from a Golden Sombrero.

Flaherty better not be bumping anyone currently in the rotation. To say he doesn’t deserve to be back in there is a huge understatement. Are they so afraid to just put him in the pen? Would he throw a tantrum?

DeJesus has 13 straight scoreless innings but of course gets sent down to make room for Flaherty.

I guess it's because they wanted to keep Waguespack and he doesn't have any options left, but DeJesus does have an option so he got sent down to Toledo in the Hanifee shuffle.
I supposed they could have optioned Sommers instead.

Good Reverse Voodoo so far with Flaherty as he's tossed 5 shutout innings with 9 Ks.  Tigers lead 2-0 in the bottom of the 5th.
We'll see if Hinch is going to push his luck with Flaherty for another inning.  Flaherty has thrown 94 pitches so I'm assuming he's done.
