Another Tight Game

Tigers lead 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th.  Skubal with a dominant start, allowing 1 run on 4 hits in 7.1 IP with 12 Ks and 2 walks on 91 pitches.  Hanifee got the last 2 outs of the 8th.

As usual, they barely give Skubal any run support.  The Tigers got 2 runs in the 1^st against the opener righty Beck Way but have been shut out by lefty Noah Cameron for the last 6 innings.  Cameron gave up 7 runs in his last start.

We'll probably see Jansen in the 9th..yikes!

Colt Keith actually got to face the lefty Cameron 3 times tonight and has gone 0-3 against him.  Come on, Colt, you're not making a good case here.

Tigers hang on to win 2-1.  No drama from Jansen in the 9^th with a 1-2-3 save.

Hao-Yu Lee with an RBI single in the bottom of the 1^st and a double later.  Lee now has a .713 OPS.  He's almost ahead of Tork.

Guardians, White Sox and Twins are all losing right now.

Jansen was injured earlier in the year and eventually went on the DL. It’s possible he’s regaining form a little bit. I’ve seen the ending of all 3 games he closed out this week and though he did put some runners on in one of the games in Chicago, he looks fairly sharp.

But then again, in the case of tonight, it’s not like he was facing elite hitters :-)
