> Toronto Blue Jays 4, Detroit Tigers 1 - final

The Blue Jays scored early in this game, and the Tigers scored the last run of the game.  The Blue Jays won this game.

In the top of the first, Vlaldimir Guerrero Jr. hit a solo homer, the Daulton Varsho doubled and scored on a single by Jesus Sanchez.

In the top of the third, Vladimir Guerrerro Jr. singled, Daulton Varsho tripled to drive in Mr. Guerrero, and Jesus Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Mr. Varsho.

In the bottom of the eighth, Wenceel Perez singled, and went to third base on a single by Kevin McGonigle, Dillon Dingler walked to load the bases, and Mr. Perez scored as the Blue Jays turned a grounder into a force out of Mr. Dingler at second base.

This weekend was rivals weekend.  The Mets played the Yankees, the Dodgers played the Angels, the Cubs played the White Sox, and the Royals played the Cardinals, among other rivalries.  Finally, the schedule maker figured out that the closest thing to a geographical rival for the Tigers is the Blue Jays.

The Tigers and the Blue Jays are both underperforming this season.  The Blue Jays won two out of three games from the Tigers, who might just help the Blue Jays out of their funk.
