When I wrote that the Tigers were "on the verge of being swept at home by their division rival," I meant it as a warning, not a prediction. But, it turned out to be a prediction.
In the top of the eighth, Patrick Bailey hit a solo home run.
In the bottom of the eighth, Dillon Dingler hit a solo home run.
The Tigers were swept by the Guardians. The Tigers have lost six straight games, and twelve of their last thirteen. Oh, the pain! The pain!
The Tigers now head to Baltimore, to face the Orioles.

Casey Mize pitched a wonderful game, but in the top of the third, with two outs, he gave up back-to-back doubles to Brayan Rocchio and Daniel Schneemann, followed by an R.B.I. single by Jose Ramirez.
