The Tigers are really running their minor leaguers so far this season.  They have 19 different players with at least 5 steals, and 7 players with at least 10.  They actually have 52 different players with at least 1 steal.  

Considering how little the major league squad runs, it’s surprising.

Speaking of base stealers, OF Seth Stephenson, who has been a prolific base stealer in the Tigers' system for the last few years (he has 209 SB in 5 seasons), is 21/21 for Erie this season.  The bad news is that he's only hitting .204/.282/.312 in AA.  

In the 70s Stephenson might have had a major league career as a designated pinch runner.  There were a few of those on MLB rosters back then.

He also did all that before May 5th.  He’s been injured since then.
