McKinstry activated

Not seeing anything from Tigers PR about a change in start time for tonight. I did see McKinstry has been activated from the injury list. Zach Short was the one who was DFA'D.

Jace Jung brought up for 6 plate appearances but has to go down so that Short can join the roster, only to have him DFA's after 1 game because McKinstry is back.

Just seems like a lot of roster silliness and unfair to Jung (and Short, if we're being honest).

Short probably knew what would happen.  Gets a tiny bit more MLB service time.

Short made a throwing error last night in the 3rd, and it almost led to a run (or more), but the Tigers got out of a runners at 2^nd and 3^rd situation with no damage in that inning.

He hit the ball hard to deep LF for an out in the 8th after Keith led off with a single.  I thought he might have hit one out when it came off his bat.  I'm not sure why Short was batting in that situation, though.

It would have been a good time to pinch hit McGonigle with Keith at 1B and nobody out and the Tigers down by 3,  but I guess Hinch really wanted to give McGonigle the night off.  Oh well.

Agreed.   Considering the situations with Jung, McKinstry and DeJong, signing Short at all was a waste of time.  I wonder if he needed a few days service time for some reason.
