The Tigers held the lead for a while, but the Yankees took the lead with a three-run rally in the sixth, and they held on.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Tigers took the lead, when Zach McKinstry singled, Ben Balgeri singled, Mr. McKinstry scored on a wild pitch, and Dillon Dingler singled to drive in Mr. Malgeri.
In the top of the fourth, Jazz Chisholm Jr. singled, went to third on a single by Spencer Jones, and scored on a ground out by Jose Caballero.
In the top of the sixth, Paul Goldschmidt singled, and Jazz Chisholm Jr.. homered. Then, Jose Caballero singled, and scored on a double by Austin Wells.
In the bottom of the sixth, Dillon Dingler doubled, and scored on a double by Matt Vierling.
This series will conclude this evening. The same two teams will meet in the Bronx next week.
