Some talk on Tigers Twitter earlier today that Skubal could be back without even a rehab assignment. Supposedly some discussion about it being as early as next week!
But a follow up about an hour ago from Jason Beck below. Still, the idea that he might just need one rehab start, and that it could come soon, seemed unthinkable a couple of weeks ago.
Beck:
A.J. Hinch pushed back on speculation Tarik Skubal could be back as soon as next week without a rehab assignment.
“That’s not true,” Hinch said. “That’s ridiculous.”
Safe to assume Skubal will have a rehab start, Hinch said.
