Pirates plunder Tigers

The TIgers had trouble scoring again today, as they lost to the Pirates, 3-1, in Bradenton.

In the bottom of the second inning, Nick Yorke was hit by a pitch, Tyler Callihan singled, Joey Bart singled to drive in Mr. Yorke, Konnor Griffin walked to load the bases, and Mr. Callihan scored on a sacrifice fly by Oneil Cruz.

In the bottom of the fourth, Tyler Callihan homered.

In the top of the fifth, Trei Cruz singled, went to second base on a fielding error by Oneil Cruz, and scored on a single by Riley Greene.

Casey Mize gave up three runs on four hits and three walks in four innings.  He struck out six.

Brant Hurter allowed one hit in two innings of work.  He struck out two, and he walked none.

Sean Guenther gave up two hits and two walks but no runs in two innings of work.  He struck out two.

Tomorrow, the Tigers will have the day off.  On Friday, they will be in Clearwater, to play the Phillies.  Tarik Skubal will get the ball for the Tigers.
Also on Friday, the Tigers' prospects will play the Spring Breakout Game against the Pirates' prospects at Bradenton.
On Saturday, the Tigers will host the Yankees in teh last Spring Training game of this pre-season.
