Please ignore the test. Just am trying to see if the email will post a
new subject to the list from this, my non gmail account. I get the link
to contact owner to register, but when I do that it tries to use my
gmail address, which I don't want to use.

If this goes through then I guess I am already a member and no one will
need to re-register.

Question: is the old list address part of the new "member" list, in which case emails to the new address would be forwarded to everyone via the old address?

Just wondering if I actually have to do anything.

Looks like I have 2 google accounts. One is associated with this email
address and another, newer one, which is associated with my gmail
account. So since I already have an account with this email address, I
can log in and see my membership to the Tigers list. If I go there with
my gmail login I can't get access to the list. Since I want to continue
to use this email for the Tigers list, I guess I don't have to do
anything...

But Sean will have to answer your question, if you don't have *any*
google accounts. Like someone said earlier, you may have to go and sign
up for a google account to access the web version of the list.

The old address forwards to the new google group, for now. Eventually
that will no longer work, as I need to shut down that server. So
everyone should update their address books, etc. because eventually
mail to the old list address (tig...@lists.ibl.org) will be
undeliverable. Other than changing the address you use to send new
messages, I do not believe any other action is necessary for the
list members.

Being too ancient to be a fully-capable computer nerd, I find that Sean's
paragraph (bottom) answers my only real questions (I have Windows Mail so
the gmail difficulties may not affect me). I believe the following to be the
case:
1) if I initiate a "list" message it should be sent to the googlegroups
address that Sean sent in his first notification post.
2) *any* simple reply will automatically go to the (group) googlegroups
address.
3) any reply to an individual (e.g. - the sender) will require the insertion
of that individual address into the header.

If any part of the above is incorrect (or oversimplified), please advise.
