Chris McCosky from the Detroit News reports that Jackson Jobe will throw live batting practice in Lakeland tomorrow and is on track to return sometime after the All-Star break.

I hope they ease Jobe back in by pitching him in long relief, although if Skubal (and possibly Mize and Flaherty) are traded, he'll probably move into the rotation in August/September.  The Tigers' rotation could look quite different by August/September:  Melton, Montero, Valdez, Jobe and maybe somebody like Madden, Gipson-Long or Jake Miller in the #5 spot.

Valdez, Melton, Olsen, Montero, Jobe.

Your 2027 starting rotation? Assuming Harris is still employed and doesn’t sign Rich Hill? :)

That's a potentially decent rotation even without Skubal and Mize, but, of course, they've got to stay healthy.  I'm still dreading the eventual Tommy John surgery for Melton and Montero.

I suppose they could still re-sign Mize, but I'm predicting he's gone.  (There's also Drew Anderson, who could also potentially start if needed).

There's also a little bit of starting depth in the upper minors as well with Madden, SGL, Jake Miller, Andrew Sears and maybe Joe Miller.

I don't see a huge incentive for Harris to sign a veteran starter this coming offseason, but you never know, maybe they're not sure if Olson will recover his previous level.

The Tigers will probably need to sign some bullpen help.  Jansen has a team option for next year, but I doubt they will bring him back.  Jansen also might get traded at the deadline.

Closer duties could go back to Vest or maybe even Anderson.  Finnegan will be back as well.  I'll beat a dead horse, but I still think we need a reliever or two who can miss bats.
