Tigers flattened Phillies on Friday

The Tigers entered their game on Friday with a record of 0-5-3.  THey finally won a game on Friday.  And they won big--16-8.

In the top of the second inning, Dylan Moore walked, stole second base, went to third on a throwing error, and scored on a double by Pedro Leon.  That gave the Phillies a 1-0 lead.

IN the top of the third, Caleb Rickets singled, advanced to second base on a throwing error by Javy Baez, and scored on a single by Johan Rojas.

In the bottom of the fourth, Spencer Torkelson singled, Dillon Dingler doubled to drive in Mr. Torkelson, and Javy Baez homered to drive in Mr. Dingler.  The Tigers had a 3-2 lead.

Gleyber Torres led off the bottom of the fifth with a double, anad scored on a double by Kerry Carpenter.

In the top of the sixth, Alec Bohm walked, Dylan Moore doubled, and Christian Cairo singled to drive in Mr. Bohm and Mr Moore.  That tied the game at 4-4.

In the bottom of the sixth inning,
    Kevin McGonigle doubled,
    Woody Hadeen walked,
    Mr. McGonigle and Mr. Hadeen advanced on a wild pitch,
    Tomas Nido singled to drive in Mr. McGonigle and Mr. Hadeen,
    Austin Slater was hit by a pitch,
    Gage Workman walked,
    Trei Curz singled to drive in Mr. Nido,
    Jace Jung grounded into a double play, as Mr. Slaters scored while Mr. Cruz was out at second base,
    Josue Briceno doubled to drive in Mr. Workmn,
    Ben Malgeri walked,
    Kevin McGonigle singled to drive in Mr. Briceno,
    Woody Hadeen singled to drive in Mr Malgeri,
    Tomas Nido singed to drive in Mr. McGonigle,
    Austin Slater walked,
    Gage Walkman tripled to drive in Mr. Hadeen, Mr. Nido, and Mr. Slater,
    and Trei Gruz grounded out to finally end the inning.
The Tigers scored 11 runs in the bottom of the sixth, on eight hits, four walks, and a hit batter.  That in a big inning.

The Tigers had a 15-4 lead at the end of six innings.  In the top of the seventh, Cade Fergus singled, and Rene Pinto homered.

Jace Jung led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Josue Briceno.

In the top of the ninth, Bryson Ware walked, Jack Barker singled, Nick Biddison was safe on a fielding error by Gave Workman as Mr. Ware scored, Trent Farquhar was hit by a pitch, and Erick Brito hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Mr. Barker.

Jack Flaherty was the starter for the Tigers.  He gave up one run on one hit and a walk in two innings.  He struck out four.

28-year-old Ricky Vanasco gave up one run on a pair of hits and a throwing error.  The run was uneared.  H struck out one in the third.

Matt Seelinger gave up one hit and no walks while pitching a scoreless inning in the fourth.

29-year-old lefty Bryan Sammons gave up two runs on two hits and a walk while pitching the fifth and sixth innings.

Dylan File gve up tow run on two hits in the seventh.  He gave up the two-run homer to Rene Pinto.  He struck out one.

Cole Waites gave up two hits but no runs and no walks in the eihght.  He struck out one.

Leal Lockhart gave up tw runs on ne hit and one walk in the ninth.  He struck out one.
