Once again the Tigers have a tenuous 1-0 early lead in bottom of the 3rd. Meadows with a sac fly on a 103-mph sinking liner to RF that was caught. Typical bad luck for us in that it was caught, but at least it brought home a run.
Will this team ever score multiple runs in the early innings again?

The early lead is gone. Valera hit a 2-run shot against Flaherty on a first-pitch 79-mph knuckle curve in the 3rd. Guardians lead 2-1.

I do not regret my decision to avoid following the Tigers games inning by inning. I briefly broke it last night when they had the lead and caught Skubal’s meltdown.
Haven’t followed any of tonight‘s game but I already knew as soon as I saw this email that they would lose. It’s just mind-boggling.

Yes, Houston lost again last night so the Tigers are still one game ahead for the last wildcard spot. Almost embarrassing if they make it. Would the players even pull out the champagne to celebrate?
If the season ended today, the Tigers would play Cleveland in the wildcard. I’m sure that would go well :-)
