Infielder Franyerber Montilla who showed some promise a couple of years ago in the Dominican League as a teenager and in the Florida Complex League as a 19-year-old, came off the IL yesterday for Lakeland after recovering from ACL surgery last year, but then suffered what looked like another knee injury in the 2nd inning in his first game back with Lakeland (he played 2 rehab games in the FCL).   He slipped near 2nd base and had to be helped off the field. 

I swear this organization has some sort of curse on it with all the injuries.

The Tigers have promoted SS-2B-3B John Peck and OF Brett Callahan from AA Erie to AAA Toledo.  Peck and Callahan were hitting well with Erie.  Callahan is 24 and Peck is 23.  Callahan hits lefty and Peck hits righty.

It’s good to see Peck get to AAA before his 24th birthday which is next month.  He’s still on the fringe of being a real prospect, but he’s improved his standing so far this year.

Peck started at SS and went 2-3 with a homer, a double, and 2 RBIs for Toledo last night in their 5-4 win at Worcester.  He made a throwing error.

He was removed from the game in the 6^th after some sort of leg injury trying to beat out an infield hit, maybe a strained hamstring.   Seriously, there is a curse on the Tigers' system.
