> Chicago White Sox 3, Detroit Tigers 2 - final in 10 innings
The Tigers lost a low-scoring game to the White Sox on Thursday.
Neither team scored until the fourth inning, when Josh Rojas singled, Michael A. Taylor singled, Vinny Capra hit a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners, Mike Tauchman hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Mr. Rojas, and Chase Meidroth singled to drive in Mr. Taylor.
In the top of the seventh, Wenceel Perez homered, then Zach McKinstry singled, Colt Keith walked, and Dillon Dingler singled to drive in Mr. McKinstry. Mr. Keith was out attempting to score on that play, ending the inning, but the Tigers had already tied the game.
In the top of the tenth, Dillon Dingler started the inning on second base, and Parker Meadows walked, but a strikeout and two fly outs ended any threat.
In the bottom of the tenth, Edgar Quero was placed on second base, Korey Lee pinch-ran for Mr. Quero, Andrew Benintendi received an intentional walk, the runners advanced on a bunt, and Tim Elko singled to drive in Mr. Lee.
The Tigers end up splitting the series with the White Sox. They then came home, where they won two of three games against the Cubs.
