1. Hypothetical trades article is behind a paywall.

Summary: Hypothetical deals with the Dodgers, Mariners, Red Sox, and the two NY teams - essentially teams with deep pockets, championship aspirations, and good pitching depth already as the writer feels the Tigers would want multiple ML or near ML ready SPs.

All of the proposed trades are intriguing though none blew me away. IMO the one with LAD makes the most sense - Two of the three of Emmett Sheehan, Jacob Wrobleski, and Tyler Glasnow, plus Top 100 prospects Zyir Hope (CF) and Jackson Ferris (LHP). The one with Boston that delivers one ML ready SP and two ML ready hitters was interesting too.

2. Free article that goes in depth into the three options the Tigers have with Skubal: Trade in the offseason, trade at the deadline, or keep him til he hits FA. Nothing much new here that hasn't already been discussed on this list.

Any trade involving Skubal to the Mets should start with Nolan McLean as part of the package, but it would make no sense for the Mets to trade McLean for Skubal.  McLean is only 23 and is under team control for 5+ years.

Any Skubal trade with the Yankees should start with Cam Schlittler, but that would make no sense for the Yankees for the same reasons as the Mets trading McLean for Skubal.  Schlittler is only 24 and is already the Yankees' best starter and is under team control for 5+ years.

Any Skubal trade with the Red Sox should start with Roman Anthony or Marcelo Mayer, plus Payton Tolle and Brandon Clarke.  The Sox aren't giving up any of those top prospects for Skubal.

Any Skubal trade with the Mariners should start with Bryan Woo, Colt Emerson and Lazaro Montes.  Not happening.

Any Skubal trade with the Dodgers should start with Emmett Sheehan (or Roki Sasaki), Josue DePaula and Mike Sirota.  The Dodgers might be tempted.

But realistically, I don't see any of those players being traded for 1 year of Skubal.  Nobody is going to trade their #1, #2, #3 prospects or a top young starter under team control for 1 year of Skubal unless they are confident they can sign Skubal to an extension.
