Skubal out, but Tigers up

2-1 Tigers in the 6th on a long first inning homer by Keith. In the 4th the Tigers had first and third with nobody out and didn’t score, in part because Carp appeared to run on contact on a grounder to third and was an easy out at home. Can we blame that on the ghost of Cora? :)

Skubal went only five because he was almost at 100 pitches. Control wasn’t super sharp and the Athletics fouled a lot of pitches off. Still, watching him K Nick Kurtz on three pitches, all different and in the strikezone, was a thing of beauty.

Now 3-1 as the Athletics let an easy Malgeri pop up drop amongst three fielders and McKinstry scores.
