> Houston Astros 8, Detroit Tigers 6 - final

The Tigers fell behind early, took the lead in the third inning, and held the lead through the fifth.  They soon lost the lead and lost the game.

The Astros started the scoring in the top of the second, when Christian Walker doubled, and Cam Smith homered.

In the top of the third, Jeremy Pena singled, went to third on a single by Isaac Paredes, and scored as the Tigers turned a Jose Altuve grounder into a double play.

In the bottom of the third, Kevin McGonigle walked, Colt Keith was safe on a combination of a fielder's choice and a fielding error, Spencer Torkelson was hit by a pitch, and Kerry Carpenter hit a grand slam home run, to drive in Mr. McGonigle, Mr. Keith, and Mr. Torkelson.  The Tigers had a 4-3 lead.

In the top of the fourth, Yainer Diazsingled, went to second on a single by Jake Meyers, went to third on a force out of Mr. Meyers at second base, and scored on a single by Jeremy Pena.

In the bottom of the fourth, Jake Rogers singled, went to second on a single by Riley Greene, and scored on a double by Spencer Torkelson.

Hao-Yu Lee homered in the bottom of the fifth, to give the Tigers a 6-4 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Isaac Paredes walked with two outs, went to second base on a single by Jose Altuve, and scored on a single by Christian Walker.

In the top of the eighth, Yainer Diaz singled, CHristian Vazquez singled with two outs, Jeremy Pena singled to drive in Mr. Diaz, the runners advanced on a fielding error by James Outman, and Isaac Paredes doubled to drive in Mr. Vazquez and Mr. Pena.

The Tigers lost on Sunday in extra innings, but won on Monday.
