The good news is that the Tigers scored eight runs in this game.  The bad news is that they gave up ten runs, two more than they scored.

The Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the first, when Jahmai Jones led off the inning with a home run.

In the top of the second, Mark Vientos was hit by a pitch, Jeff McNeil singled, the runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt, and Luis Torrens doubled to drive in Mr. Vientos and Mr. McNeil.

In the bottom of the third, Gleyber Torres walked, and Wenceel Perez homered, giving the Tigers a 3-2 lead.

In the top of the fourth, Jeff McNeil doubled, Cedrick Mullins walked, Luis Torrens singled, and Juan Soto hit a home run to drive in Mr. McNeil, Mr. Mullins, and Mr. Torrens.  The Mets had a 6-3 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Dillon Dingler singled, Zach McKinstry tripled to drive in Mr. Dingler, and Jahmai Jones singled to drive in Mr. McKinstry.  The Tigers were within one run,, 6-5.

In the bottom of the fifth, Spencer Torkelson singled, went to third on a single by Andy Ibanez, and scored on a wild pitch by Ryne Stanek.  The game was tied.

In the top of the sixth, Luis Torrens singled, Francisco Lindor was hit by a pitch, Juan Soto triple to drive in Mr. Torrens and Mr. Lindor, and Brandon Nimmo singled to drive in Mr. Soto.  The Mets had a 9-6 lead.

In the top of the sventh, Jeff McNeil was safe on a fielding error by Gleyber Torres, then was replaced by pinch-runner Luisangel Acuna.  Mr. Acuna stole second base, Cedric Mullins walked, Luis Torrens hit a sacrifice bunt to advance both eunners, and Brett Baty grounded tou as Mr. Acuna scored from third base.

Riley Greene led off the bottom of the seventh with a double, and scored on a two-out single by Zach McKinstry.

Jahmai Jones led off thee bottom of the eighth with a double, went to third on a fly out by Gleyber torres, and scored on a grounder by Wenceel Perez.

The Tigers would lose on Tuesday as well, then win on Wednesday.

Not a happy ending for the Tigers.

Too short for a quality start, and too many runs allowed.
This seems to be his worst start in his Tiges career.
