Vierling's single was sandwiched by swinging strikeouts by Greene and Workman against Jays' struggling former closer Jeff Hoffman in the 9th, but Vierling got into scoring position with the steal with 2 outs and after they walked McKinstry to face Tork, Tork
actually did something clutch for a change. They should have pitched to McKinstry. As bad as Tork is, he's better than McKinstry.
Nice to see the Tigers use the stolen base effectively.
Workman turning back into a pumpkin with an 0-4 with 3 Ks, although he hit a ball hard to LF that was caught.
McGonigle also had a potential hit taken away on a sliding catch by Varsho in CF in the 5th. It ended being a double play as Hao-Yu Lee was running and didn't hold up to see if the ball would be caught. Lee was at 3B and was an easy out at 2B. Some boneheaded
baserunning from the rookie Lee.
