26-year-old catcher Eduardo Valencia had a big offensive season last year in AA and AAA. He's hit well this spring for the Tigers.

The problem is that he is a terrible defensive catcher so his future is likely as a 1B/DH (another Malloy/Briceno type).

So it looks like we'll have a Dingler/Rogers combo at catcher this season (with Tomas Nido in Toledo in case one of them gets hurt).
