Jake Rogers and the Tigers have agreed to a $3.05 million contract for the 2026 season, avoiding arbitration.

Jake is a perfectly acceptable #2 catcher.  Wish he could hit a bit better but most back-up catchers can't hit.  That's not unusual. He plays good defense and works well with the pitchers by all accounts.

The other Tigers' back-up catcher options are Tomas Nido and Eduardo Valencia.  Nido can't hit (I know he hit .343 for the Tigers this year in a tiny sample size fluke, but he only hit .209 in AAA and is a career .215 hitter in the majors) and Valencia is a lousy defensive catcher who is probably more suited for 1B/DH.

Rogers isn't much as a hitter, even in a Rob Deer sort of way. In a perfect world I wish we had a better backup catcher but given his defense, rapport with the pitchers, and all-around good clubhouse guy vibe I'm fine with signing him and moving on to more pressing matters.
