A four-run ralley in the top of the fifth inning erased an early Tigers' lead.  The Tigers never recovered.

The Tigers got the early lead in the bottom of the third inining, when Colt Keith led off with a singled, and Kerry Carpenter homereed.

In the top of the fifth , Nolan Gorman singled, Thomas Saggase walked, Nothazn Church was safe on a force out of Mr. Saggase at second base, Pedro Pages singled to drive in Mr. Gorman, Victor Scott II hit a sacrifice bunt to drive in Mr. Church, and Ivan Herrera singled to drive in Mr. Pages and Mr. Scott.  That gave the Cardinals a 4-2 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Dillon Dingler walked, Parker Meadows singled and stole second base, Spencer Torkelson walked, and Javy Baez hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Mr. Dingler.

In the top of the eighth, JJ Wetherholt singled, went to second base on a walk to Ivan Herrera, went to third base on a fly out, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Nolan Gorman.

The Tigers would lose again on Monday, but Michigan soports fans were mostly watching the Wolverines win the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
