Sparky Anderson used to tell his players, "You're gonna win 50 game, and you're gonna lose 50 games.
"It's what you to in the other 62 that determines how well you do in the season."
What he meant was, don't worry about a lobsided loss;  it's the close games that you need to win.

Too bad Josh's brother can't be this good.

> C. Cauley CF 3 0 1 0 0 0 0 .167 .231 .333

> N. Lopez SS 5 2 3 1 0 0 0 .355 .388 .409
> team 40 10 17 10 3 4 3

Rangers are missing Corey Seager, Wyatt Langford and Brandon Nimmo from their lineup and have kind of a bunch of scrubs in their lineup but still scored 10 runs.

> Detroit Tigers IP H R ER BB K HR PC-ST ERA

> B. Brieske 1.2 1 1 1 0 1 1 23-16 10.50

Brieske should be sent down and DeJesus called back up, or maybe Hanifee.
Brieske just hasn't been the same pitcher since September 2024.  He still throws 96+ mph but his command is horrible.

> D. Sommers 0.0 4 3 3 1 0 0 26-17 6.23

Sommers couldn't catch a break.  He'd get ahead on hitters but they'd hit a grounder and it would find a hole over and over.

> K. Finnegan 1.0 3 1 1 0 1 1 19-13 2.23

Finnegan's ERA is deceptive.  He just hasn't been very good this year.  Hinch has lost confidence in him as a high-leverage reliever.  Remember, Finnegan has been a closer for much of his career and now Hinch is afraid to bring him in for high-leverage situations.
Nevertheless, I think Finnegan is still a trade candidate at the deadline.
