Tigers lose 3-1. The bats were pretty silent tonight, other than Dingler having 3 singles and a Greene double.
At least Flaherty wasn't terrible, allowing 1 run in 5.2 IP. He reached 101 pitches and was lifted in the 6th.
Holton gave up a 2-run shot to Witt, Jr. in the 8th. Sigh. Holton really can't be trusted in high-leverage situations. He's too homerun prone. He's a shell of the Holton of the past 2 years. He's lost the pinpoint command he had the past 2 years and because
he doesn't throw hard he's very vulnerable.
The Tigers are kind of hurting for lefty relievers right now with Hurter on the IL in Toledo. Sommers clearly isn't ready for primetime. I guess they can try Bailey Horn again.
The good news for the bullpen was that Kahnle looked decent tonight with 3 Ks and 0 runs in 1.1 IP.
Skubal pitching the decider on Sunday. Let's get out of KC with series win!
