Hi all,

Just a quick reminder.

Mac Liaw will be joining us next Tuesday to give a talk entitled "Elixir and OTP, Sittin' in a Tree"

OTP (Open Telecom Platform) has gone way beyond the original goal of building telecom applications. It’s powerful, but complex. To use it, you have to follow certain patterns manually. But as long as you do, the modules OTP provide give you a great deal of capabilities. OTP provides a number of behaviors that let you build robust fault tolerant applications. So it’s no surprise most Erlang applications use OTP.

Elixir’s Mix tool helps you a little bit with it. I’ll show you how to use OTP with Elixir and Mix. By the end of it, you’ll realize OTP isn’t very scary. In fact, you too will soon use OTP in most of your Elixir projects.
