Just a reminder about this event on Wednesday:

The new Ann Arbor Scala Enthusiasts group will kick off on January 16,
2013, at 6 pm at SRT Solutions in Ann Arbor. We’re thrilled that Josh
Suereth, software developer for Typesafe and author of Scala in Depth, will
be speaking at our inaugural meeting. We will have 3 copies of Josh's book
to give away (thanks Manning!). Bruce Eckel, with whom I am co-authoring a
beginning book on Scala, called Atomic Scala, will be there. We will be
there with a copy of our new book (in early access form).

Typesafe is generously providing food for the event!

Josh will talk about “Functional programming patterns for the Asynchronous
Web”. More details are available at: http://annarborscala.eventbrite.com/

Please register (free!) at eventbrite, so that we know how much food to buy!

This was orginally shared by Dianne Marsh.

I invented the term 'Object-Oriented', and I can tell you I did not have C++ in mind.
