Thereason I need that is to install Blackberry Server 12.2.1 and this java update is one of the pre reqs and no matter what I do i am unable to get that on. I think I have searched almost everything online since this error has been countered by a lot of folks. Just hoping someone here has successfully installed that on a windows server!

I have Java updates on set up in a policy with our remote system. I have it run a script (i have to update it for all older versions of java) first to uninstall all old versions. Then it installs the newest version. If for some reason it fails, it does remediation on user log on.
Nevertheless, now that I was in this pickle, I tried the most of the fixes suggested in this post, but none worked for me. So I searched the C drive and deleted all Java results, then did the same in the registry. Afterward, was able to download and install as desired. Resolved!
After looking through many forums and attempting many of the solutions suggested I eventually had a Eureka moment, I was using LogMeIn on the end users workstation to manually install Java, went for a gander and installed without LogMeIn without any issues
Thanks huwelphillips! This did the trick for me installing on Windows Server 2012 Standard. Tried several suggestions with no luck, the used RDP from another server rather than LogMeIn direct and VIOLA!
I have had this problem. I was able to fix it thanks to a co-worker. The problem started happening after I installed HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT, aka QTP). Installing this product changes the Windows environment variables used by Java. He told me the following: "So change the names of JAVA_OPTIONS, IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS, JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS to something else (both in system and user variables) and delete any Java folder(in Program Files (x86) or Program Files) which gets installed despite the error. Restart the system and then try installing Java."
My answer is not related to win 10, but might help someone who is having similar problem in windows 7 machine and not able to install jre 32 bit version. the work around to this is once you downloaded the jre, copy the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_121\bin\javaw.exe" and paste it under java runtime environment settings which is found -Java Control panel>java>view
I had this problem for a month now. I tried everything on my windows 8, but I couldn't get the latest java on it. When I tried to install java on an empty computer, the 64 bit version did not go through (error 1603) and I realized the problem didn't come from an old java install and I install 32 bit. it worked on the new computer with windows 7 and on my computer running 8.1.
I encountered this error on Windows 8.1 and when I checked with Oracle web site, they said that is is not yet resolved, and under investigation. They also showed a link for off-line installation as an alternative arrangement. However, upon investigation of my system, i found out that the available space in C drive was only about 20 MB or so. I cleared my system and provided enough space. When I tried with the extra space, I didn't encounter any error. May be, you could try with a better free space...
First you should close the browser because if any webpage will use Java, it will cause conflict. Then do custom installation, i.e. install in some other folder other than default folder and point environment variable to newly installed Java location. It will resolve your issue.
The installation had broken, therefore I removed my Java version from the computer and tried installing manually. But I can not install any of Java 1.8 versions. I tried many tools to clean up (JavaRA etc), but I always receive error code 1603 during the installation. Even I removed my latest WIN updates also. But nothing has changed. Does anybody have this issue? Earlier versions of Java are not acceptable for me.
There was no solution for this problem. I found a workaround for it. I installed JDK and JRE to some other computer. Copied the installed files to my comp and setup Path, JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME env. variables. It works as nothing has happened.
I ran into this tonight and was not able to find any answers that fully assisted me. During install, I was presented with a dialog that said there were programs using java (jp2launcher.exe) that needed to close before installation could continue. Upon clicking close and continue installation, I would receive error 1603 and the install failed. Through other posts, I found a workaround that worked.
I ran into another issue tonight, this time with u45 on a fresh install of Win 7 pro. There was no mention of jp2launcher.exe this time, just that the Java update failed with error 1603. I had to find my post on the forums here to remember the fix for this. The fix mentioned above worked in this instance as well.
Malware developers often take advantage of the Java flaws and therefore installing the new updates of Java is quite important to prevent the system from possible attacks. But when Windows users install the Java updates, they run into Java error code 1603. Why does this happen? How to fix it? MiniTool answers all the questions in this post.
What can cause error code 1603 on Windows 10? The reasons for this error might be different. It is possible that the Java update you ware try to install is been blocked by antivirus software, web software or other programs that are running Java.
Step 2: Under the Process tab, go through the list of programs. If some of them have been mentioned with the error, highlight the programs one by one and then click the End Task button.
As we have mentioned, the most possible reason for Java error code on Windows 10 is that Java has been blocked by security software. Therefore, you can try to temporarily disable the software and then install Java.
To do that, you need to open Task Manager again if you have closed it and right-click the software to choose the Disable option under the Startup tab.
so I restarted Everything and reinstalled everything and I still get the error > Java Virtual Machine Launcher Error: loading: C:\Program Files (x86)/Minecraft Launcher/runtime.x64/bin/server/jvm.dll I saw that I was using 32 bit and i supposed i need to use 64 bit one so I uninstalled the old one and installed the 64 bit java one and now im getting this error I tried deleting the old java files and im getting this error number 1603 and Error: loading: C:\Program Files\Java\jre.1.8.0_251\bin\server\jvm.dll I deleted runtime folder and I got this >Unable to locate the Java runtime.

Java SE 8 installation fails with "Error 1603: Java update did not complete." This can occur on some machines, but not others. The problem can persist even after removing all Java versions and reinstalling. The issue is described in the article, "Error 1603: Java Update did not complete" on "
java.com".

Does anyone have recommendations for installing Jamf Infrastructure Manager? I am receiving the attached rollback error after initiating the installation and entering the verified parameters. I used the following as resources:
I currently have a ticket open with Jamf but so far the troubleshooting suggestions have been fairly basic steps that I had already taken like ensuring the FQDN is used for hostname and installing from an elevated command prompt session. The login credentials for the API user are also valid.
The installation log is extremely verbose but I parsed every single line. There is a single 1603 error reference indicating SYSTEM doesn't have file permission access but it does. The only other relevant information the log provides is to validate that the installation parameters were entered correctly.
@xian Thanks for your response. I forgot to mark this resolved. I submitted a ticket to Jamf and it made its way to a couple of engineers who were able to help us diagnose the issue. It turns out that Amazon Corretto 11 is not just the recommended flavor of Java for JIM 2.1 (we were using OpenJDK 11.0.7) but is, in fact, a requirement to get it working with Windows Server 2016. I can't speak for previous or newer versions of Windows Server, but that is the case with the current build of WS16.
I also noticed this in the logs and realized I misinterpreted the 1603 error at first glance. It seems to be an issue with the API user account but I tested the account and verified it works and that the information is correct. I temporarily gave the account full permissions for testing too.
