7th- Season 3: Entirely too bloated. I will die on the hill that they should have cut the black "sinnerman" out of the plot completely and focused on Lucifer finding out that Pierce is Cain. Adding to that, the Chloe and Pierce romance felt very forced only added for more drama. The whole season felt like a job to get through. However, the season finale somewhat redeemed it. Also "Off the Record" is the second best episode in the season don't @ me
6th- Season 6: While I am not as harsh as a lot of people on the sub, season 6 was visibly weaker from a writing standpoint than other seasons. I think time travel as a plot device should never be used, because it creates entirely too many plot holes, which is exactly what happened. The ending felt super rushed, and not all the way thought out. With that being said, I still enjoyed the season
5th- 5a: As I was preparing to write this post, I went back through synopsis's on episodes to job my brain on plots, and I forgot how little things happened in the first half of Season 5a. The second half picks up starting with BlueBallz, and ends strong with the epic fight at the end and the introduction to God. But the first half really brings this season down. Still a overall good season
4th- Season 1: Ah, the very beginning, where Amenadial was the main antagonist and Lucifer and Chloe relationship was in it's infancy. From strictly a quotable and humor standpoint, this might be the best season. Season 1 features some of the best murder mysteries in the show, and also has probably the most underrated season finale in the show
2nd- Season 4- FINALLY CHLOE KNOWS!! Oh man after enduring 3 seasons of frustrating antics , she finally knows he is the devil. The introduction to Eve, the antagonistic priest, the internal struggle that Chloe goes through to accept lucifer, all of these are great plotlines. There is just something about people finally being "in the know" that is so enjoyable to see.
1st- Season 5b: Oh man, where do I even start? Firstly, I LOVE the addition of God. Dennis Haysbert absolutely kills his role, and was a perfect casting. I love the epicness and urgency of this season. The threat of Michael becomes even stronger, Lucifer having to go on a campaign to convince his family that he can be God, and the murder of Dan really showed this season meant business, and the stakes were legitimately high. This season also has the most entertaining filler episodes I've ever seen in a TV show with Dan's Naked and Afraid, and also has the best season finale out of all the seasons. Truly a perfect season.
5. Season 6 It resolves season 5's ending in such a anticlimactic way. However episode 9 is a great heartfelt episode and i'm one of thoose who like the finale. And this season did make me shed a tear.
Season 5 The first season I watched as it came out, I remember sitting in my room a Friday night and I binged all 8 first episodes in one sitting. This was a ride it has so many great episodes and the finale is awesome.
What are your thoughts about the final season of Lucifer. I personally loved it. Although I am sad to say goodbye to the show it was a perfect ending which I am happy with. One improvement I would have liked is to see Rory meet Lucifer once again at the ending and I also wanted to see Trixie at Chloe's side when she died. I would have loved to see Linda in heaven. Other than these slight things I absolutely adored the final season, so much so that I wrote my first reddit post..lol. what are your thoughts tell me ...
Occasionally erratic behavior can be the sign a character is dealing with a personal struggle or some other issue - after all the "celestial beings go to therapy" is a great element in the show - but in season 3 the activity feels like it is just random, and without point.
Just finished season 1 of lucifer and I do have a couple gripes with it like the massive plotholes. So in episode one remeber when the dude shoots him and Chloe is literally like right next to him but he isnt hurt? Or how absolutely brain dead chloe is he literally throws a dude threw a (glass) wall with one hand and no one see's anything wrong with that? Or when he disappears in front of like a million cops. He basically teleported and yet not even Chloe questions it! Or how he punches a hole through concrete in his therapists office and even she thinks nothing of it!! Man sometimes it gets hard to watch because of how oblivious chloe is. Not to say the show is bad I think it is ok and a good take on the whole "devil" thing just pointing out some issues i had. Overall i would say its an ok show.
I think it's the fact that they executed the big bad so early on and then from that point until episode 20 it was just filler episodes that didn't have that much to do with the plot, AND THEN, the mini plot with pierce wanting to die was changed, and the entire finale was an "accident" with not that much of a big bad plot. Also the last two, but they were supposed to for season four anyway so... anyway thank you for listening to my TED talk. :)
I'm in the midst of rewatching Lucifer cause it's been a long time, and I wanted to refresh myself before finishing the final season. I'm on episode 5 of season 4, and my god, I hate Chloe with a passion....
I loved this show and for me the end of season 4 was the end of the show. And then the trailer for season 5 came out and it spoiled the plot of the season by telling us that the Lucifer that came back on earth was a twin! I watched the first episode of season 5 and it was nice but since i know the plot twist, well, I don't really see the point. And now there is a 6th season! So, is it worth watching season 5 and 6 or should I just pretend that the show stop a season 4?
Season 6 is probably my least favorite. I just feel like the whole Aurora plotline came out of no where. I would of loved to see the season wrap up by focusing on Chloe and Lucifer just finally being happy, but instead Aurora just sort of showed and up the whole thing went to shit. I only just found this subreddit so I dont know what the general consensus for this season is, but Imo it just felt really out of no where. While I like Lucifers character development, him becoming a therapist for hell felt a bit... much.. Lucifer shows affection through physical means, that's how his character works. We see it time and time again where he will refuse to open up about what's bothering him, then do something like buy gifts to show he cares. Lucifer became a lot more self aware, but I still don't think he's at the level where he can therapize the people in hell? I dont know. I liked that Amenadiel ended up as God, you could tell Lucy didn't really want that role, but other than that this season was pretty out-of character and just a bit off.
Question is pretty simple; are the 5th and 6th season of Lucifer worth watching? First 4 seasons were pretty much great and I loved the plot. Now I'm 5 episodes into season 5 and I'm thinking of quitting the show. Writing feels awful, and the filler Noire styled episode is what made me post this. Is it going to be better in the last season? Are there any major revelations that make the show worth watching to the end?
I loved season one. I'm roughly halfway through season 2 and I'm getting extremely burned out, it takes me 2-3 attempts just to stomach one episode. The most interesting plot about Lucifer being vulnerable near Chloe seems to have disappeared and it feels more and more like a cheap comedy drama. Is it worth the wait or does it only go downhill from here?
The build-up of Lucifer defying is father, realizing that his love for Chloe is his choice and not fate, the whole cast learning who he his, him having made this amazing dynamic duo between him and Chloe in a cop drama-esque show, was completely ruined by season 6.
At the end of season 6, they again brought up fate versus choice, and after realizing he has infinite choice and reasoning to love whom he loves and act in the present, they use this stupid time travel mumbo jumbo to basically force Lucifer into his father's fate, and when he's clearly distressed and depicted as wanting to stay with Chloe and watch his daughter grow up, it's just shoved in his face because "it's for his daughter" (which let's be honest, in actuality if it was, he'd be at his daughters birth).
No reason he couldn't of plopped up from time to time even if he did take that job. It's dumb. Have Michael do it. Isn't Michael still down there? Could've had some serious self reflecting for Michael like Lucifer was forced to do by God for millenias. Michael just stuck in his hell loop for eternity? Lucifer assumingly does bad at the dawn of time, gets punished for it, then michael does bad, lucifer does good, lucifer is still stuck down there. Doesn't check out.
I'm a fan of The Sandman series, and I like a procedural show from time-to-time (makes for easy & predictable viewing). So after several months of low-activity during this year of isolation, I jumped into Lucifer - something I can binge, but also work/cook/talk during. I don't mean to indicate that the show is bad, I love it. But it is a procedural cop show, which means the crimey parts are super predictable and relatively uninteresting by season 2. Lucifer stands out in the procedural world for making the "series A-story" a cosmically emotional odyssey. So when we finally get to the big emotional reveal for Chloe near the end of Season 3, investment in the show really pays off! Or so I thought.
