Postdoc position in Barcelona

One postdoctoral position is available in the University of Barcelona
group starting around January 1st 2001. A second one could be made
available if a strong candidate is found.

The group is involved in the LHCb and HERA-B experiments. In LHCb, the
group is working in the design and construction of the preshower
detector for the electromagnetic calorimeter, including the design of
the read-out chip (amplifier, shaper and discriminator) for the
scintillator pad layer at the front. In HERA-B, the group has worked in
the construction and comissioning of the RICH detector and it is now
heavily involved in the physics analysis of the data of the ongoing 2000
run.

The succesful candidate is expected to participate in both activities,
the balance between the two depending on his/her interests and the needs
of the group.

The position is for one year, renewable for another year. Further
renewals could be possible, depending on the funding situation at the
time. Gross yearly salary will be in the range 4000000 - 5000000 ESP
(around 40000 to 50000 CHF).
