New Unofficial Dtoid server!

Right, well since I'm sure we're all having severe withdrawal symptoms
from the server, I've decided to pick up where Usurer left off and
created a new server.

I'm open to suggestions (please suggest things), and will be either
using the old dtoid map, or the one from Usurers server, depending on
what people prefer, and what is less laggy.

If there's any problems please let me know and I'll do my best to fix
them :) No whitelist at the moment, but I will ask Usurer for his
whitelist.txt so all previously whitelisted people will be able to
access the server. This sever is permanent, as in it won't be going
down for the foreseeable future.

The IP is: 50.22.36.164:25578 (although that's only temporary)

I would say go with Usurer's map as well, as it is finite, which in
theory should be easier for the server to handle. That or maybe a new
map. As much as I loved the old dtoid map, I don't think an unbounded
map is a good idea.

among others are accessible for non-ops

they haven't been given correct permissions yet.

Server will be down for a while I'm afraid (unless anyone wants to contribute?) not out of personal choice, I love you guys and the server, it's just that at the moment money is extremely tight for me, I'm moving out and most of my wages are going on rent, with only a small amount left over for food. It sucks and I am sorry but that's what's going on. Maybe we can use this downtime to pressure the destructoid staff into setting up the official server again ;)

I hate to say I saw this coming, but, well, servers ain't cheap. It
was fun while it lasted, and I thank Ben for picking up the torch for
a while. And as much as I'd love to see the official destructiod
server up and running again, I don't hold out much hope at this point.
So perhaps the question is, where to now? Perhaps some of us can
migrate over to a more established server. I've been poking around
Kreatious and mcsteamed lately, but haven't really put down roots.
Where are you guys playing nowadays?

Sad to hear this server go down, hosting a server does cost a lot,
though. I'm thinking of re-hosting mine, no guarantee it'll be quite
as big as Ben's, but it should be able to hold a OK amount. I'll throw
a thread up if I end up hosting it again.
