HiI just installed the new Particular in After Effects. There is something not working anymore:
I have a swarm of fish following a Motion Path. In the older particular, I was able to affect the position of the swarm by a turbulence field and some small spin. AND each fish still aligned its direction to its individual motion (Orient to Motion).
With the new particular, Orient to Motion is not aligning each individual fish anymore to its individual direction. They only orient to the Motion Path.
Is this not possible anymore? Am I doing something worg?
Please Help
Thanks
Sitting in my living room, contemplating one of the great figures of American theater, and making connections between a play written by an African-American playwright in 1987 and an epic poem composed by a Greek author in 500 B.C. And believe it or not, this process helps a 46 year old white guy from the Southeast United States in 2017 make some sense out of the lives of others and his own. I confess that there are pains deep down in the text of Fences I will not understand because of my privilege. But I am so thankful to August Wilson and Denzel Washington for connecting the story of the Maxson family with the world at large. Fences has so much to teach all of us.
I am not sure (but I bet he did). However, I do know one of the blessings of a classical Christian education is to hear the different melodies of the human story, and while leaning in to listen to each one more closely, discover that many of us are singing a similar song that stretches across cultures and time periods. Sure, we are definitely different: but in some ways, we are beautifully and mysteriously the same. Being reminded of our shared humanity invites us to bear witness to the particular struggles of each other. What a gift it is to encounter great art. What a greater gift to encounter it as a classically educated person connecting with the Great Conversation.
The viewport preview of Redshift materials has been improved, with support for animated textures, ramps and colour correction nodes. Support for procedural polygon selections and vertex maps on generators has also been improved and now includes support for field-based point and edge selections.
The new Schmutz and Diffraction effects make lenses look grimy and add rippling effects to each lens flare reflection element. For instance, Schmutz makes a grimy lens sparkle in the light that is reflected off of the glass, letting the user choose from multiple different textures. Diffraction happens as light bends around the edge of an aperture, adding a rippling effect in the reflections, while subtly softening the render.
Users can now save, load and share their own custom Curve and Gradient presets, and four new emitter block presets have been developed for Form behaviours to improve speed and performance. Several improvements have been made to the migration of older projects, and to Bounce physics.
For Unreal users, updates to Cineware for Unreal integration now supports Cinema 4D 2023.1 and Unreal Engine 5.0.3. As a result, C4D files can be imported into Unreal and changes made without leaving the engine environment.

My lab studies high brightness electron beams. We focus on the physics of beam creation and brightness preservation in linear and circular accelerators, for applications ranging from time resolved electron diffraction to high brightness synchrotron radiation sources. In practice, our work combines the use of detailed beam simulations with the design, construction, and operation of accelerator hardware with high resolution beam diagnostics.
We also seek to deploy high brightness photoemitters in accelerator applications both locally and across the accelerator community. On Cornell's campus, we've developed a new ultrafast electron diffraction device based on our in-house-grown photoemitters that produces high quality diffraction images of materials with sub-picosecond resolution, allowing us to observe atomic motion in atomic-real-time. We collaborate with condensed matter physics groups in this effort. Our team seeks to explore exotic phases in quantum materials that arise transiently on ultrafast timescales, and in particular, phases which are otherwise unavailable in static equilibrium.
maxon motor uk ltd is launching a new DC servo-motor to coincide with theDrives and Controls 2000 Exhibition - Featuring maxon's ironless winding system, the RE40 motor provides outstanding value in terms of performance, dynamics andinstallation size and forms part of a modular system that includes planetarygearheads and encoders.
The 150 Watt RE40 DC motor - which has an external diameter of 40mm and is71mm long - is fitted with a strong Neodymium magnet and maxon's ironless rotorsystem made famous in successful space missions (see Plate 2).
The RE40 is exceptionally durable for a mechanically commutated motor thanksto the very low inductance of maxon's ironless winding. Other major benefits aremaximum efficiency of up to 90 per cent, detent free operation, very lowstarting time constants of 4ms and high overload capacity. Three differentwindings are already available so that the best match can be found for anyparticular application.
Preparations are under way to combine the RE40 with a brake and to offer an"industrial version" where all electrical terminals with cable screw connectionsare fed into a terminal box, allowing the unit to meet the requirements ofprotection class IP54. These servo-drives are used widely in automation systems, aviation, medical technology and mechanical engineering.
Keith Ellenden, chief executive of maxon motor uk ltd said: We recognisethat Drives and Controls 2000 is one of the premier events in the industrialcalendar which is why we always aim to unveil something a bit special. Webelieve that, with its outstanding performance and innovative design features, the RE40 will attract the interest of many designers and production engineers.
Chapter 38 of the San Francisco Administrative Code imposes new requirements on commercial leasing activities (both new leases and amendments of existing leases) in San Francisco where the leased premises contain 7,500 square feet or less of space to be used as a "Public Accommodation" (defined broadly by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to include some general office uses).
If the ordinance applies, then the landlord must satisfy certain obligations before signing a lease (or amendment) and the landlord must include certain provisions in the lease (or amendment). Note that the law was effective January 1, 2013, with respect to leases (and amendments) of 5,001-7,500 square feet of space. The law will be effective June 1, 2013, with respect to leases (and amendments) of 5,000 square feet or less of space. The ordinance purports to apply to all lease amendments meeting the above description (which would include minor lease amendments containing clarifications or corrections, not just lease amendments that extend the lease term or modify the leased premises).
Before entering into a new lease (or amendment) meeting the above description, the landlord must either (i) ensure that existing public restrooms, ground floor entrances, and ground floor exits are accessible by removing all architectural barriers to disability access (as required by, and to the extent "readily achievable" as defined by, the ADA); or (ii) notify the tenant in writing that the property may not currently meet all applicable construction-related accessibility standards, including standards for public restrooms and ground floor entrances and exits.
PRACTICE TIP: As with most new legislation, the language of the ordinance contains some inconsistencies and ambiguities that have yet to be interpreted. Commercial landlords should consider complying with the requirements of the ordinance in connection with any lease (or amendment) involving 7,500 square feet or less in a building (rather than relying upon potential arguments as to why compliance is not necessary under the particular circumstances).
