The3473 Dipole Electromagnet accepts a range of pole caps with face diameters up to 150mm. The model 3473-50 is fitted with a 50Amp coil pair, and has a coil gap of 127mm. The model 3473-70 is fitted with a 70Amp coil pair with enhanced cooling, and has a coil gap of 96mm. The 3473-70 is recommended when high fields are required at large pole gaps or to achieve maximum field stability for spectroscopic or similar applications.

If field reversal is required when using a a unipolar Power Supply, we offer the 5971-160 Current Reversal Switch. This Switch provides a safe way of reversing the magnets current under either manual or computer control. The USB Interface also provides control fo the Power Supply current, and readback of the Power Supply current and voltage. It will also provide field readback from a Senis Field Transducer if installed.

Higher field uniformity may be achieved with a set of precision ground pole spacers. These spacers come three to a set and include a delrin spacer ring assembly to accurately locate the spacers. This ring assembly may be machined to hold experiment fixtures, and may even include a set of Bias Coils.

For achieving a zero field, the bias coils are used with a fixed DC power supply, and set to generate a 'negative' field when the main magnet power supply is stitched off. The the main magnet power supply may then be programmed to any field from zero upwards to the magnet power supply maximum.

For field modulation, the bias coils may be used with a low power bipolar power supply such as the Kepco BOP 100-1D. Note that our magnets are of a solid yoke design, so the modulation frequency will be limited to less than 30Hz.

We are pleased to offer several mounting options for the 3473 Electromanget. They range from 45 Angle Brackets, Horizontal and Vertical Mounting Brackets, and Rolling, Rotating, or Rolling and rotating bases. A guide rail is also available to guide the rolling bases between magnet test stations.

We have also designed a motorization kit for the rotating base. This item includes all required hardware to add a computer controlled motor assembly to the rotating base. It features variable speed, limit switches, a 'home' switch, and a clutch to help prevent the system from being damaged should the mechanism jam. Order part:

It is two-tone gray, and is supplied with lift off side panels, castors, and a door mounted on to the back. The door includes two line powered cooling fans to help draw hot air out of the rack. It does not include filler panels and support angles.

The first Eames sofa, the Sofa Compact, struck a chord because it was like a post-war hot rod: its structure exposed and straightforward, its demeanor youthful and mobile. The upholstered seat and back cushions are deeper and softer, providing even more comfort. Ten years later they released the Eames 3473 Sofa.

Its high back and angled seat, supported by solid cast aluminum legs, is similar in shape to the Sofa Compact. The seat and back were each constructed out of a single piece of plywood with an angle molded into the back section. The back and seat pads were made of 3-inch-thick urethane foam, covered by a 1-inch layer of dacron. The amount of detailing on the design ultimately made it too expensive to produce; Herman Miller manufactured this Eames sofa until 1973.
