I have found out that we can file our patent for the Uwalk online at this website: uspto.gov

It is the government database to file a patent. The process is that we all have to come up with a good description of our invention and why it is unique.Since, we have to come up with this together, we will need to meet. After filing this, then we should go and talk to the patent lawyer and he will tell us further steps to get it cleared.

Yes, you should get an abstract of this idea, file it first as a US patent (not international). This can help speed up the process. There is an initial filing fee ($125) and 12-month wait to get the lawyers review it.
