Would definitely help to have the functionality and this would be a decent workaround. However, I'd much rather have it within Pipedrive rather than having to learn a new data analytics software. But better than nothing!

It's great idea for someone like me who is already experienced using data studio. I do agree that Pipedrive is lacking in the report building section. There is no reporting for the leads folder as far as I know.

Hi Menna,

Great initiative. I am sure a connector with Google Data Studio would help visualize our numbers and performance better.

Some struggles we have with your reports today:

- I recall that conversion and deal velocity from one sales stage to the other can only be accurately reported for closed deals. Assume you work with long sales cycles, and deals may not be closed in the next 12-18 months. Any initiatives to improve the above two metrics will have an impact close to today. Yet, it will only be shown in the reports when the deal gets closed. Maybe 12-18 months from today.

- I also remember that Pipedrive does not allow proper reporting/filter of revenue from specific products assigned to a deal. Hence, it is not possible to get a good overview of the sales performance of certain products.

- We cannot build filters to list all participants assigned to a specific deal. Whenever we select a deal property in filters, it will output the primary contacts only. It is a major obstacle to building effective mailing campaigns with Pipedrive.

- Finally, it'd be good to be able to report the then-current value of certain key results or fields on a specific day. I.e., to answer questions like the sum of the value of all deals in a certain stage on a particular day and which deals were included?

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Yes please! Very much like to echo everyone else's comments in that this would be a great asset for Pipedrive (along with custom reports and forecasting for advanced members). As an SME reporting and forecasting is so important to help us grow into the MME space. Unfortunately, we are caught between the memberships as the next upgrade from Advanced to Professional is a significant step. Having access to these features at advanced would help support a decision to move onto the next plan proactively because the budget allows as opposed to 'we are unable to get full benefits'. Currently, Pipedrive does not grow with a company because it prevents full access to features which encourages and makes it easier for alternative systems to be sourced. Providing full access to features makes it harder to leave a system when you know it provides everything you need. Thanks PD!

Throwing this out there as well - we use integromat to send data from Pipedrive to AirTable, our database, and now with the new AirTable Interfaces feature (game-changer if you haven't seen it yet), we have dashboard/data vis with all our AirTable data that includes Pipedrive data.

If Pipedrive was to have integration with AirTable that would be pretty powerful no doubt for Pipedrivers using this stack/combo, or even provide a great option for Pipedrive users who aren't yet using a database yet.. or for those who find GDS too complicated and don't have in-house data-vis experts.

I think the most important thing is to give users the ability to choose and group/merge data (since you have multiple data sets - persons, deals, organizations, leads, activities..) based on IDs before sending it to the google data studio, where it is not so user-friendly to merge the data before visualization.

100% agree with what others are saying. I would love any connection point to get to the data directly instead of just exporting. I like the idea of connecting to Google Data Studio as this is a free software I already have. I have two other data sources & I am trying to get them all to map to any dashboarding software. Any help from others in this thread would be helpful. I like the insights but you can't do this on all data such as contacts/companies. I have some big plans for how else to use pipedrive besides a CRM.

I have been trying to embed data studio into the iframe component in the app builder but so far I am running into this error: "Could not connect to the reCAPTCHA service. Please check your internet connection and reload to get a reCAPTCHA challenge." I have tried embedding data studio elsewhere and it is working fine. Is there any work around this or what can I do to resolve the issue?

When I mean elsewhere. Either on another platform such as wordpress not retool related. I did this to determine whether the embed function of data studio was working or not. I am running it on the retool cloud platform.

I am not sure if this is a bug if there is any sort of authentication between the source and Retool required - for example, when attempting to use a signed URL from S3, it will not load because S3 doesn't recognize that the iFrame is a part of Retool - if that makes sense - at least this has been my experience - but will have to see what the Retool team says

Hi @Jay, was using oEmbed in the iFrame component on my previous examples.
I tried using HTML component but that didn't show me anything. Tried removing the div it is under in and just retain the iFrame tag but that didn't show me anything as well.

Hi @Jay I did the same thing as @jocen. Tried both embedding using the iFrame component and HTML but nothing pops up. Although for the iFrame component a recaptcha error pops up. Here is what it looks like. Just so you know I have embedded data studio in other sites as well including such as wordpress and other websites and the url link is already publicly opened. Unless we are missing a step in retool, it would be helpful if you could break it down for us.

In your example you use DATE_FORMAT. I wonder if you apply this in Data Studio (which does not know DATE_FORMAT) or in mySQL?. If you do it in data studio and leave your mySQL/phpmyadmin untouched you can use this:

I was wasting a heck of a lot of time before, copying and pasting the numbers and screenshots of the graphs from JIRA into a manual template. Because the report is worked on by all my team members it looks different every week. Also, people were forgetting to share information, sometimes (we are humans after all).

You can also download the guide I made ? which goes into much more depth and gives an outline of all the questions I used. If you take the short route you'll be up to speed in about 30 mins, if you want to devour everything related to my specific use case it'll take a good two or three hours.

I password-protected the typeform so that only designated team members are able to access and generate the reports. I also made use of the simpler logic capabilities in the new builder to route people through the form in a "conversational" way.

Here's an overview of how the form is made:

Here's a copy of the form so you can play around with it in your own Workspace and have a look at what's inside.

If you want even more detail on how I made the form get some popcorn ready and settle down to watch this three-part step-by-step video series:

Once connected, you'll move through to the data modelling screen in Google Data Studio. This is where you configure the data sources for your reports, before clicking the 'Create Report' button to generate the report. Here's another video to show you how all this works:

@Nordin thanks for sharing this amazing workflow I can imagine so many cool things beyond your use case that this can be useful for (reporting sales orders, survey results, employee satisfaction reports, etc.) Loved the videos, too. In fact, I'm gonna suggest to my son that we watch all 2 hours of footage tonight instead of the Real Madrid game

I agree with @James - my evening is now shot (along with the next several i fear) lol.. will be trying to get through all of this to augment what I have already able to make Google Sheets and Docs, along with Document Studio add-in, to make reports.

I say these things happen "after" the fact due to the current choice of technology (Google Sheets) and the daisy chain of calculations that triggered by the new typeform response being received all happens in a process separate from the user submitting the survey and their response report being prepared and going back to them.

I think we would need to clarify the part of the Google sheet formulas and look-ups a bit because I think that can be a bit messy to implement in a tutorial but if we were able to clear that up I like the idea of having different tables and stuff.

@Nordin - i use my Remarkable (writing tablet) to sketch stuff on all the time and just pulled that from the tablet into the message.. i know my handwriting is bad but lol.. but your tool looks cool.

@jonniejensen - to get to the bespoke level about which you speak, you will probably need to use something beyond the internal components of Typeform: a CRM system or a Google Sheets/Docs integration coupled with an add-in like Document Studio for Google Sheets (which is what i use) to generate custom reports.

from my end, there are several threads here where i describe the process used BUT i take the user data inputs and dump it to a Google Sheet, using the Document Studio add-in I merge the data with a Google Doc template and push it out via a custom email set up inside Document Studio and attach the pdf version of the merged document. This allows me to add some value to their inputs and provide matching industry metrics (based on the industry they select in the questions) etc.

@sarahmcvanel - just to show that is easy enough, try out this assessment (from my data quality world) and if you put in your email address, you will receive a customized report. Once you have your assessment figured out, have created the template for your report (and sketched some of the logic out on napkins), and have your spreadsheet in place (I use Google Sheets) the actual process to set up the merge and mail is really quite simple and quick.
