Homo sapiens, a.k.a. us humans, are an interesting animal. We rarely do things that we know are good for us (or avoid doing things we know are bad for us) unless we know that other people are watching.

Contrary to popular belief, blogs are not only tools for self-obsessed narcissists. They are also an extremely effective way to share goals publicly because they trigger our innate psychological programming to succeed in the eyes of others. With blogs, we develop a following that we will feel obligated not to let down.

Blogs are also an outlet for sharing successes and failures during our mission. As Benny Lewis, founder of Fluent in 3 Months, never stops saying, mistakes are a very necessary aspect of language learning.

Likewise, punishments should involve something sufficiently detestable, but not so outrageous that you both know from the get go that neither party will actually be forced to follow through when the other wins.

After you have gotten into the swing of things, you should have a good idea of how many minutes it takes you on average to learn one kanji. You can then figure out how many minutes per day you need to meet your daily kanji goal.

Like other spaced repetition systems (SRS), Anki automatically schedules re-exposures to specific cards based on how difficult you rate them. Easier cards will be shown less often while those more difficult will come back around right away.

You can look up kanji dozens of ways, including the character itself, the stroke count, the radical, the reading (in kana, romaji, or Chinese Pinyin), or the index code from any of the major kanji dictionaries.

Yamcha's kanji, 樂, pronounced raku or gaku, means "comfort" and "ease". During early Dragon Ball, Yamcha dons this kanji on the front of his uniform until he meets and trains under Master Roshi. 樂 is a much more widely used kanji in Chinese than Japanese.

Emperor Pilaf's Kanji, 炒饭, pronounced chǎofn in Mandarin and meaning "fried rice". This kanji is worn by Pilaf as a large front patch. 炒饭 is a Chinese way of writing the kanji rather than Japanese.

Chiaotzu's Kanji, 餃, pronounced gyo and meaning "dumpling". Chiaotzu wears this kanji as a large patch on the front of his Qipao but removes it during Dragon Ball Z. However, in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and the God of Destruction Beerus Saga, Chiaotzu once again wears it as a large patch on the front of his Qipao.

Master Mutaito's kanji 武 (pronounced bu in Japanese) means "martial arts"/"martial artist" or "military". This symbol is worn by those trained under Master Mutaito. It is also the logo for the World Martial Arts Tournament. In Xenoverse 2, it appears on the front and back of Mutaito's Gi.

King Piccolo's kanji, 魔, pronounced ma and meaning "demon", "devil", or "evil spirit". King Piccolo wears this kanji on the front of his uniform, as does Piccolo Jr. as a young child. Piccolo Jr. also gives Gohan this kanji while under his training. The word majin also borrows from this symbol (meaning the same things).

Kami's kanji, 神, pronounced kami and meaning "god". Kami wears this patch on the front of his robes, and is stitched in. During Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler, Dende is briefly shown wearing Kami's old outfit. Goku's Doll wears a modified Turtle School Uniform featuring this symbol on the back and front as well.

King Kai's kanji, 界王, pronounced kaiō and meaning "world king" King Kai wears these two kanji on a large, round patch on the front of his uniform. When Goku dons it, he wears it only on the back of his uniform, keeping the Turtle School's kanji on the top left of the front of his uniform. Yamcha wears it in reverse to Goku, having the Kai kanji on the front and the Turtle kanji on the back. It also appears on the back of Goku's Tracksuit which he wore while training on King Kai's Planet in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

Neko Majin Z, the Neko Majin trained by Goku, wears this symbol, ネ, on the front of his dogi. Pronounced ne, this symbol is unlike most symbols adorned on the dogis in the series in that it is in katakana, a Japanese writing system typically used for borrowed words.

It also appears on the Time Patroller Suit in Xenoverse and Xenoverse 2. Goku wears it on his Gi and Vegeta wears it on his Battle Armor in the Prison Planet Saga. In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Bulma's pink and green jacket has the CC logo on the back.

Atsuyuki Harada, an Old Dominion University computer science major from Japan, knows from experience how difficult it is to grasp the 10 different writing strokes for creating the Chinese characters (or kanji) that are used to write Japanese.

The distinctive strokes are placed in combinations to create thousands of characters that comprise some Asian languages. It is difficult for Americans to memorize the 10 basic strokes of Chinese characters because English alphabets and Chinese characters are completely different.
