you should be able to check your licenses in your MYVMWARE portal. if you do not know the access details speak to your vmware reseller who will be able to help you in finding out your true licensed position.

I am new to PowerEdge and VMware. I have just purchased a used Dell PowerEdge T630 Server to use in a home lab for learning and testing. I need some guidance on the right process to get the right product through the right channels. I understand that the Dell custom ISOs are moved to vmware.com and MyVMware/CustomerConnect. I created a CustomerConnect account and logged in.

i have been digging around every corner of the internet and spoken to both vmware (who only spoke enough to tell me they can't talk to me) and dell, but i can't find the answer to a simple question: do i need a vCenter Server License to use Nvidia GRID vGPU?

there is no "enterprise plus vcenter" license; there is only vCenter Server Essentials and vCenter Server Standard. the primary difference is that essentials has a limit of 4 ESXi hosts it can manage.

Therefore, if you are an individual user who want to try out vSphere basic features, vSphere Essentials or Essentials Plus will be enough. As for small or medium-sized enterprises, vSphere 7 Standard Edition will better meet the business needs. And for large organizations, the comprehensive edition of vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus can better improve productivity and business continuity.

The vSphere Essentials Plus Kit includes all the features of the vSphere essential kit and additional features like vMotion, vSphere hypervisor, and enterprise-grade data protection facility to ensure maximum uptime and reliable IT services for SMBs.

I could continue in listing features not present in the vSphere Standard, but as I said previously, It's all about business requirements. I think the vSphere Standard covers the basic virtualization features, even for larger enterprises, as you're not limited in number of physical hosts.

Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) is an alternative for organizations that want a truly agile and scalable infrastructure to deploy enterprise-grade applications. The cloning techniques embedded in Parallels RAS simplifies the management of VMs in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.

vSphere editions are highly scalable virtualization solutions for midsize and enterprise organizations that want to optimize existing IT investments, streamline IT operations, and deliver IT-as-a-service through private, public and hybrid cloud infrastructures:

VMware Tanzu Basic enables organizations to run Kubernetes in vSphere. It includes everything an enterprise needs to make the best use of Kubernetes as part of its on-premise vSphere-based infrastructure and allows VI admins to leverage familiar tools used for governing VMs when managing clusters.

VMware vCloud Suite is an enterprise-ready private cloud software that brings together the industry-leading VMware vSphere hypervisor and VMware vRealize Suite cloud management platform. vRealize Suite provides developer-friendly infrastructure (supporting VMs and containers) and a common approach to hybrid and multicloud, supporting major public clouds, such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

For customers that prefer to build their own, Lenovo provides Engineered Solutions to speed deployment, optimize performance and ensure scalability of industry-leading enterprise applications on Lenovo hardware infrastructure. Lenovo Engineered Solutions are a range of pre-configured, tested, and validated best practice configurations, system-level appliances, rack-based appliances, and professional services offerings designed to reduce TCO, risk, and complexity. Guidance is provided in reference architectures, configuration guides, and solution guides.

Started in 1998 and used by more than 500,000 customers worldwide, VMware is a reliable platform that enables teams to build, run, manage, connect, and protect their apps. Combining VMware virtualization with genuine Apple hardware, a MacStadium VMware private cloud is an excellent choice for companies that need enterprise-scale build, test, or CI/CD deployments for macOS.
